Mercedium Stretch Episode 19: julzzz

Today’s episode of the Mercedium Stretch features Ottawa based artist julzzz. Born in Brazil and raised in Peru, julzzz moved to Ottawa for University and has since released a slew of groovy R&B tracks, which draw influence from her unique upbringing. Mercedium Stretch Episode 18: Memblem

This week on the Mercedium Stretch we speak to DJ, producer, and artist Memblem. Growing up in Vietnam and later moving to Toronto, he crafts dance tracks that are all about the bounce. We speak about his viral beat battle victory, designing sounds for a speaker system, as well as the role of producers in todays music industry. Mercedium Stretch Episode 17: Kairos

On the 17th episode of the Mercedium Stretch we speak to Kairos, a rapper and singer from Barbados, honing his craft here in Toronto. The 15th episode of the Mercedium Stretch features Eric Vanier, a producer and musician currently making music under the name PHELIX. Eric speaks to us about his introduction into drums through rock band, gigging in freezing temperatures, and crafting acoustic sound panels for his studio over the Christmas break. Mercedium Stretch Episode 14: Dayna Shereck

This episode of the Mercedium Stretch features singer songwriter Dayna Shereck, who has been penning country songs in both Toronto and Nashville for the last decade. Inspired simply by the melodies in her head, Dayna began to write music with no formal background and has since released many tracks of her own. She speaks about her love of songwriting and shares with us a song from an upcoming Americana album, set to be released sometime in the future. Mercedium Stretch Episode 13: Indiana Rotondo

This week on the Mercedium Stretch we speak to Indiana Rotondo, basketball star turned poet, currently crafting his brand Soul Worx. Indy talks to us about his upcoming poetry events, some of the community work he’s involved in, as well as how he first started to write and express himself away from the court. Mercedium Stretch Episode 12: Class Favourite

On the 12th episode of the Mercedium Stretch we speak to the minds behind Class Favourite, a print magazine featuring youth art made right here in Toronto. Mia, Sam, Cami, and Zach talk to us about the launch of their third issue, and we also delve into their creative process and past releases. We play music from mei anima, Hockey Academy, Mad Iris, the neverminds and Superstar Crush showcasing some of the bands they’ve interviewed themselves, as well as some they’ve featured at their past launch events. Mercedium Stretch Episode 6: Mundial Montreal (TFA 2023)

On the 6th episode of the Mercedium Stretch, we take a bit of a rewind to 2023, and air some never before heard footage, back when Seth and Jesse traveled to Mundial Montreal with Tracks From Abroad.
We speak to Huu Bac about his traditional one-stringed, Vietnamese Đàn bầu, hear from Bruno Capinan about fashion influences, and ask Gabriel Evangelista of Andalusyria what exactly is a depanneur.
Jesse MacDougall drops by in person and gives his account of the latest edition of the festival, which took place this past November, 2024. 

Mercedium Stretch Episode 4: Kubla (10/25/24)

On the fourth episode of the Mercedium Stretch, we speak to Kubla. Fresh off the release of his live album ‘Sounds From Deep Down’ Kubla speaks to the process and stresses that went into recording and preforming a whole record in his basement. We also speak about his family’s musical history and play tracks from new and old Kubla projects.
